In Pompeii some garbage dumps will be analyzed, dating from the 2nd century BC to the first decades of the 1st century AD. Some of these dumps have been set up inside small cavities, also used as latrines, while the most recent one consisted of a pile of rubbish. Since these contexts are in direct stratigraphic relation, their study will also offer interesting information about the evolution of food practices.
