Case Study

The contribution of anthropological and ethnographic disciplines will allow to establish possible social, cultural, political and religious values, attributed at community level to the ceramic find and to the normal practices of work, cultivation, use of food and drink, aiming at the same time to rebuild the status and social role of users. Through the implementation of five different use case, located in some of the most important archaeological sites of North (Aquileia) and South Italy (Pompeii), Sicily (Syracuse and Finziade), and Sardinia (Nora), the project will address and validate all the research project objectives.

The use cases have been selected on the basis of several common parameters:

same chronological horizon

homogeneity and comparability of material productions

significant areal distribution for the definition of small and medium-range trade logics

presence of craft and/or consumption areas
